How to use the worksheets
- Pick a topic and a length. Start with the topic that feels hardest, or a mixed review to see where you stand.
- Print it and work it on paper. Show your work in the space under each question, the way you will on test day.
- Check every answer with the key. For each one you missed, read the working on screen before you move on.
- Make a new worksheet. Every sheet has new questions, so practice as often as you like.
For teachers
Each worksheet has its own link, printed at the bottom of every page. Open it any time, on any computer, and you get the same questions again. So you can plan a lesson today and print the class set next week.
Want two versions so neighbors can’t copy? Make two sheets on the same topic. Uncheck “Print the answer key” for student copies, and print one with the key for yourself.
What’s on each worksheet
Every question is multiple choice or fill-in, the two kinds that work on paper. They come from 80 question makers across the 9 topics, out of the 101 our online practice uses. Drag-and-drop, drop-down and hot-spot questions only work on screen, so practice those in the question types guide.
A mixed review follows the weight of the four areas of the test. On a 20-question sheet that’s 6 questions on expressions and equations, 5 on graphs and functions, 5 on numbers, fractions and percents, and 4 on measurement, geometry and data.
3 mistakes that cost points
Mistake 1: answering a different question
Many wrong choices are the right math for the wrong question: the interest when it asks for the total, or the discount when it asks for the sale price. Read the last line again before you pick.
Mistake 2: rounding too early
Keep every digit until the last step, then round the way the question says. Rounding halfway through can land you on a wrong answer choice.
Mistake 3: leaving off the units
A fill-in answer of 78 means nothing until you know it’s 78 feet of fencing. Write the unit, and check it matches what was asked: feet, square feet or cubic feet.
