Short version: you can take every practice test here without giving us your name or email. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages help. If you ask for the practice-test PDF or an answer sheet, we keep only what that needs: your email address, and for the PDF your first name.

Taking a practice test

No account is required and none of your answers are sent to us. While a test is in progress your place and your answers are held in your own browser’s local storage so that you can close the tab and come back. When you finish, your answers and results stay there too, so you can return to them, until you finish another test of the same kind. Clearing your browser data deletes them. We never see them.

If you ask for an answer sheet

We store the email address you give us, together with the numeric seed that rebuilds the test you took and your score on it. The seed is a number — it is not your answers and it is not question text.

We use that address to send the answer sheet and study tips. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe. We do not sell or rent email addresses, and we do not pass them to advertisers.

If you ask for the practice-test PDF or join the course waitlist

We store the first name and email address you enter, the time you signed up, and whether you ticked the box for study tips. We keep these records in private Vercel Blob storage, protected from public access.

We use them to email you the PDF, or to tell you when the video course opens, and to send study tips only if you ticked the box. We do not sell or rent them, and we do not pass them to advertisers.

We use Gmail to send the requested PDF from booknboost@gmail.com. Google processes the recipient address, name, email content and attachment to send the message. We also keep a private delivery record with the attempt count, status and message ID so we can follow up on failed requests. Gmail accepting a message does not guarantee it will reach your inbox. You can reply to the email for help.

Site statistics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used: which pages people visit, how they arrive, roughly where they are (country or city level) and what kind of device and browser they use. We also count when practice starts, resumes or finishes, and when a course waitlist or PDF request succeeds or fails. These counts include the type of practice or sign-up and where the form appears on the page. Google Analytics does not receive your test answers, scores, test seed, name or email address. We disable Google signals and advertising personalization in our Google tag.

Google Analytics sets its own cookies (named _ga and _ga_…) to tell visits apart, and Google processes this data under the Google Privacy Policy. You can block these cookies in your browser settings, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on. The practice tests work the same either way.

What we do not collect

Apart from the first name on those two forms, we do not ask for your name, your age, your address, your school or your test date. We do not run advertising trackers, and we do not build a profile of you across other sites.

Cookies

The only cookies are the Google Analytics ones described above; the site does not set advertising cookies. Local storage is used for three things: your place in a test, the results of the last test you finished (and which results page you looked at last, for the link back to it), and which skills you have ticked off in the study-guide checklist. All of it stays on your device.

Getting your data removed

Unsubscribing removes you from the mailing list. If you would like your address deleted entirely rather than just unsubscribed, ask and we will delete it.

Children

This site is aimed at people preparing for a high-school equivalency test. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us an email address, tell us and we will delete it.
